For the third time in a row Jacobs University can proudly display another feature of its rich diversity as people from across the globe come together to open the floodgates of the annual Jacobs Run.

In fact, after the previous two years, the event has established itself as a lure not only for the highly international faculty and student body, but also for a large number of external participants.

Regardless of whether the runners’ ambitions are competitive or aimed at personal accomplishment, the broad spectre of the Jacobs Run is likely to do justice to most preferences.

This year three different categories will be offered: the 400 m Bambini-Run (for children up to 6 years), plus a 5,000 m and a 10,000 m race, kicking off at 15.45 and 16.45 pm, respectively.

Guided by the spirit of good sportsmanship, the Jacobs Run seeks to become an appeal to old and young by fostering engagement in physical activity, by creating positive experiences with the sports culture and by uniting different nationalities and generations. It can moreover be considered a contribution to increased health awareness, showing the path to a more active lifestyle.

This large-scale arrangement would not have been possible without support from various sponsors and volunteers, who all own a considerable share of the maintenance and development of this attraction. Thus, without exaggeration, the Jacobs Run can be pointed out as one of the most memorable campus events for runners, spectators and contributors alike!

Please mark your calendars for the 24th of October sign up for the run as soon as possible!
